This sensational kitchen overhaul proves that design doesn’t need to be enslaved by the past. Not only did the finished product modernise the kitchen’s original footprint, but it also updated the rest of the home without being conspicuous.

Stylistically, this was achieved by introducing a Hamptons-inspired, eclectic design that incorporates both modern design and classical elements, for example the Caesar stone Sleek Concrete benchtops and caged pendant light, which contrast beautifully against the polyurethane Shaker cabinets and timber floors.

To maximise storage, floating shelves were installed to prove extra room without enclosing the kitchen further. Meanwhile, a dedicated appliance cabinet, shaving and drawers within the island bench, as well as pull out oil and spice drawers ensure everything a cook needs is close to hand.
